Sleepyhead is proud to announce that as of 1st April 2007 we officially became part of the Australian Made Campaign. Sleepyhead understands all too well the importance of supporting Australian manufacturers. It is important to us that we are able to provide after sales service, keep Australia working and offer peace of mind to our customers. At Sleepyhead, 100% of our products are Australian Made.  

Not only is there a dramatic increase in the number of imported mattresses on the scene but there is also a rise in the number of bedding manufacturers importing components such as spring systems. Many manufacturers import spring systems (a significant component of the mattress) and claim to be Australian Made; this is misleading as a majority of the mattress was not made in Australia. At Sleepyhead we go to great lengths to invest in bedding technologies and to keep the manufacturing process in Australia. We have implemented a rigorous program of productivity improvements to tackle imports head on. Significant investment has taken place as the threat of cheap imports forces a manufacturer to analyse every part of their operation to look for better ways to produce, new technology to implement and smarter ways to work.  

As of April a complete in store ‘Australian Made’ merchandising campaign has been rolled out across the country, reinforcing to our customers that we are part of keeping Australians working. This is becoming increasingly important to the consumer in Australia, and we are part of the solution. Sleepyhead – Proudly Australian Made.
