We spend many hours in close proximity to our mattress. This also means we are very close to what is inside it.
When looking for a new mattress, look for products that feature natural components, or non-synthetics such as latex and organic fabrics.
Latex
Sleepyhead only uses 100% natural Latex which is proven to be antibacterial (providing non-allergenic, dust free properties) and because of its open celled breathing properties resists moisture build-up, giving superior health benefits.
The difference between Natural Latex and Synthetic (unnatural, man made) rubber is simple: One is natural and the other uses substances such as coal, oil, natural gas and acetylene. Latex is available as a comfort layer or as the core support system of the mattress.
Fabrics
We now have a range of products featuring natural fabrics such as Bamboo, Organic Cotton, Aloe Vera finishes, Silver, Silk, Viscose and Cashmere. Many fabrics include synthetics such as polyester and polypropylene. These are often necessary in fabric to achieve durability and softness, but make sure you ask for mattresses that include natural finishes or natural yarns such as Bamboo.
