When buying a new mattress, you get what you pay for. At Sleepyhead, we only use the highest quality products that we can source and refuse to compromise on quality. Watch out for manufacturers who use cheapest components to keep cost down. The product won’t last long and you’ll pay for it.
Springs
Starting with the wire, we only purchase from the world’s best producers and are very particular about the types we use. Since we make our own springs we have ultimate control over where components come from and have strong relationships with suppliers.
Foam
In the past Sleepyhead has also produced its own foam out of our Auckland factory. Because of this we have thorough knowledge of different foams and in turn work closely with suppliers to choose the best grades of foam possible. To learn more about foam, visit the 'Comfort' section.
Latex
New Zealand Foam Latex is the only manufacturer of moulded latex products in Australasia. This company is part of the Sleepyhead Group, which means we have control over the development of our products. We also work with NZFL to develop new comfort and support systems such as Sensorzone and Purecell. Because we own the factory, we can also be sure of the quality of Latex Gold.
Fabric
After almost 75 years, we have become very experienced with understanding what makes an ideal mattress fabric. Where possible our fabrics are sourced in Australia from a company we have been working with since the inception of Sleepyhead. Fabrics are also imported from other companies we have long standing relationships with. We demand extensive quality control on these fabrics, and our designers frequently visit the fabric weaving facilities to keep up to date with the latest trends, and to make sure we are happy with the quality of manufacturing techniques.
