Using the wrong bed base can damage your mattress and void your Sleepyhead warranty. Flexislats can create uneven pressure points and cause sagging; broken or worn-out box springs offer zero support; and slats spaced too far apart (over 8cm) let your mattress bulge between gaps and risk tearing the fabric. Additionally, not all mattresses are designed for adjustable bases: putting an incompatible mattress on an adjustable base can cause flexing, internal damage, and premature wear. Our Sleepyhead bed bases provide solid, even support designed specifically for your mattress, ensuring lasting performance. Match your base to your mattress!

The Standard Platform Base has 150mm legs for a classic, balanced bed height, while the High Profile Base is a deeper sleep base designed for those who want a different, more elevated look in their bedroom. Both are made from sustainable New Zealand pine with upholstered fabrics, but the High Profile Base offers 11 colour options across Opus and Nova ranges, plus your choice of 50mm or 100mm legs, castors, or 150mm glides. Choose Standard for a traditional height or High Profile for a bolder bedroom statement.

The Sleepyhead SpaceBase is cleverly designed to hide 180 litres of storage bins behind magnetic locking side panels, so you get plenty of storage without compromising on style or adding to clutter. Alternatively, the Drawer Base is a great option when bedroom space is limited. It's available with two, three or four drawers for easy access to items you need frequently, like clothes.
